Where you going to ride?? The 400ex can go as fast as a quad can go with the right ridder..... unless were talkin about the dunes??

I have the 400Ex, and love it. The Raptor has a number of issues, that I wouldn't feel like dealing with. The reverse isn't that big of a deal to me. The 400 handles better, is more reliable, more stable, smoother power delevery, less$.
But just my $0.02

400ex is a good lil bike. I have rode one alot. Easy wheelies and very light. But nothing beats the 250R's..

I was just out rideing my Banshee at Hollister last week and some guy had a canondale quad. It was the fastest god damn thing i have ever seen. It is also fuel injected. But he did say it cost him 10 grand.

I'd say it definitely depends on your intended terrain. Wide open stuff and dunes calls for a 2 stroke for the most fun. Tighter trails, or rougher, rocky terrain is more suited for a four stroke.
