Post BMW touring bikes???

What do you guys think about the BMW touring bikes. I believe they are the KT1000's or so. I like the idea of the upright touring style bike. Any experiences???

87' FJ-60, 383, SOA w/OME's, Sm465/Atlas 5.0, Dana 60, Corp 14, locked, cage, some 39's.
FJ-40 on the way.

They are the GS series bikes. They look like they'd be set with the bags loaded and a good map of the dirt roads of Utah <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

But on anything tighter, life would get expensive cause thy are heavy!!

I've seen the XR650L's set up with side baggs and the Corbin seats.... those look like the tix!!
Arizona Trail Riders ....... BRRRaaaAAAPPPPPPP
