Post how long can fuel be stored?

How long can fuel be stored until it destabilizes? I've been told like a month, is this true? I have some pre-mixed that's been in my garage for about a month now, should it be ok or should i throw it out (and how can you tell if it's bad)?

its fine, the worst thing is water condensation. I've had fuel in my landcruiser i'm working on for 2 years now. It takes time before it really will do serious damage, to be honest i don't know how long. If its only a month though thats nothin. Be sure and stir it up good before you ride though.

It can last way more than a month.

Even gas oil mix is ok for like 4 months.

My suggestion is when in doubt add some STA-BIL you get it at boat shops.

Been using it in my snowmobile and boats and dirt bikes for years.
I dont use it in the lawn boy because it can take anything...

Question

I thought the octane goes down as the gas ages???

I usually mix only like 2 gals more than I think I'll use at a time, then if I dont use it after 2 months I'll throw it in the truck

What U get out of the pump in California shouldn't be called gas. By everything that I have heard about our new anti smog gas, it dosen't last too long. I try not to keep gas stored over a month, and in as air tight of a contaner as possible. I have never had gas go bad on me, so I wouldn't be able to tell anyone how long is too long. Just ride it every weekend, and you'll never have a problem

From what I've been told, mixed gas (2-stroke) will go bad quicker than straight.
