It was a little small for me (grabbed a demo) but I loved it. Fantastic all arounder right off the floor. The rear shock was a fox w the boost valve thing, and it did a great job of not soaking up all my energy every pedal stroke. Climbed awesome. I didn't like the fork as much as my vanilla, but that's an 800 dollar fork. If I needed a new all mtn I'd highly consider it. I really like the giant trance too.

I have one and love it. Given I did have to have the swingarm replaced under warranty, but i'm a heavy rider. I ride the shit out of and have no complaints about how it rides. The rear shock has a pro pedal, which instead of locking out, just stiffens the shit out of it so there is still a little bit of give.

Does the rear shock lock for hill climbs?

I have an 09 Fuel EX8 the year before they went to the DRCV rear shock. I've found that its a great all around mtb Im a pretty heavy guy and it's held up for the 2 years i've had it. The first two years it was ridden by my co-worker, he's less heavy I.
For the first week I had a hard time getting used to the quicker steering but once I got used to it it lets you flick the bike quickly left and right for downhill switchbacks. The Full floating fox shock seems to handle awesome under hard braking while taking bumps. The front Fox Float 130 RL has a lockout lever on the right side and the rear Fox Float RP2 XV Air shock, has a pro pedal lever as well as rebound adjust. Pro pedal lever on my shock has only two positions, on or off. The pro pedal on position doesnt completely rigid lock out the shock but does firm it up considerably and it climbs like a hard tail but if a large bump or dip comes along it doesnt beat you up. it seems to instantly open up and instantly firm up. Overall im happy with the bike. only thing i'd upgrade are the avid juicy 5's they dont seem to as much clamp as other hydraulics i've had.
