Wink

There has been talk of doing this for the last three years
If i can get away this summer I'd be up for just a riding trip. I wouldn't want to drive my truck all the way there

yo leonel and vova. I'm definately considering many trips to Downieville this summer with a whole bunch of my riding buddies to check out the dh there. I wasn't aware of any wheeling up there but I'd definateley like to do some sort of group riding weekend kind of thing. Count me in for sure.

Put me on the list please!

What part are they shutting down - 4x4 or MTB (both?)?

Can I bring a DH rig and haul it to the top of some good downhills?

there is a shop there that will drive you to the top It takes about 3 hours to get back to town. about 85% down hill and the rest not too steep up hill.

I don't know any of the wheeling trails in that area but I've done the Epic (5 hours) downhill run and it sure is worth the drive up,so let me see if i can contact a local and see what we can come up with

A friend and I are working on putting together the wheeling/MTB weekend up in Downieville sometime this summer, the wheeling will more likely be moderate to acomodate averybody but the main focus will be on the downhill run and that should be spectacular,I wi ll keep you all updated!

Leonel sounds like an awesome plan. We should consider Northstar as well. Not much for wheeling i don't think, but has some awesome dh.

July 26-27 sounds like a killer plan Leonel. Hopefully my planned dh bike will be finished by then. I'd love to check out the long dh at Downieville that my friends have been talkin about. Hey, I also get out of school at the very end of May so if anyone would be interested in a Northstar or Downieville trip then with me and some buddies I'd be very down to go. It's one thing to talk about biking on here with you guys, but it'd be definateley much cooler to actually be able to ride with ya every now and again.

Funny to hear you talk about MTB at Northstar, Ian. The mountain is melting fast and as we take down ski safety stuff we're re-rigging for the MTB trails (as we can). The lower part of the mountain is all dirt now...

Hey Paul, that sounds good. When do you think it'll be ready for real riding? When does the mtb season start up there for the summer?

Ian - I believe they want to open before Memorial Day weekend for biking, but honestly... I haven't been paying much attention as I'll be gone by then (this weekend actually).

Go figure though...it's dumping snow now.
