new mountain bike trails

Hey-

Anyone here live in Texas? I am building some MTB trails on my ranch in La Grange. I originally went down there to look for an area to build 4x4 trails, but figured it wouldn't work but its great for mtn bike trails. I'm looking for some help building them, and of course, then riding them.

The best way to build Mt Bike trails that I have found is to ride them on a Quad. It rips them up nicely.

Just get some local kids to ride where you mark off and you will have trails in no time. Then tell them to move on to the next new trail you want . And so on and so on.

Our trails were all hand built. RAKES and tree shears. Walked by our local off road club.. PORC Pittsburgh Off Road Cyclist
then we just cut the trail in and some nutcase rides it. He/she usually ends up with flat tires the first time out. We have lots of jagger bushes here.

Thanks for the idea, but a lot of it is too narrow for an ATV, and its going to take a lot more work than that. I've already begun and, damn, its exhausting!
