Both... thats the hard part! Tryin to figure out what kinda bike to ride.
I have a Ti DBR thats pretty old, but I've up graded pretty well and a 14" Azonic DS1 with a triple crown fork that I've been bashing on.... The AC1 fits in between pretty well

those AC1s are awesome bikes. with the right components/fork/shock, you can get it below the 35lb mark (barely), and then that's an incredibly light freeride bike.
I agree with you, i'm torn on the DH/XC riding, so I do XC because DH bikes/parts cost a ton. I have a Specialized Stumpjumper so it's fairly light. If I ever got the money I'd go with an Intense Uzi-SLX. 6" if travel w/ a 6" marzocchi up front only weighs about 30lbs. Now that would be a very climbable freeride bike! anyways, congrats on your new bike, and kind of components you got on there? |

jeesh...i thought thatwas heavy till i started hucking my big hit down the hills....it weighed in at just under 60 lbs.....but wait....i met the two owners of brooklyn machine works over the summer...they always ride at plattikill mtn. the two of them are awsome guys..and thier bikes are freakin crazy!!! the one bike weighted just over 75lbs!!!!! 10 inches of rear travel, 8" up front with an avalanche fork...and the rest of the bike is chromo....with a funky ass high drive. the bikes are sweet as hell!!!!! both of those two rip down the hill!!!!!
I MISS MY XC BIKE.....MY DOWNHILL FORK WEIGHS 11LBS!!!!!

I bought an AC frame from the factory, and i love it as well, right now i have a 120mm mantiou black up front, but im thinking of selling it and gettting something from bombshell, im thinking the bad betty and switching the shock from a rock shox to a FOX racing one that will pick me up some travel, and working on a replacement link that will give me a bunch more travel but it all costs money, so its gunna be at least after next riding season or maybe longer

I have a 33 pound RM pipeline that makes its way up and down hills just fine. Alls you gotta do is get used to the weight. Someday try to ride a xc hardtail after about a year on the ac and you'll fly up hills. My other bike is a 50 pound dher but it pedals up hills suprisingly well when I wanna actually put forth the effort and it's got a 44t up front. But then again 50 pounds and 7.5 inches of travel on both ends is not the most exciting way to get up a hill, but it goes down pretty nice. Have fun with the bike, I've ridden it before and it's a blast.
