I'd say it's too far for a day ride, but thats just me... It's on top of the grapevine on I-5 about 15 minutes east of Frazier Park.....You're welcome to join us, but I don't think I'd drive that far for the ride.....

We're looking at shuttling the bikes to the top for probably two rides down the mountian.... none of us have done it before, but it's supposed to be a pretty decent 7 mile downhill....I'll let you guys know after we do it if it's worth the drive....It's about an hour and 15 min for us....

I didn't mean to turn you off, just saying it might be far for you for a couple hours of riding (or less), but check it out on Mapquest.com or expedia or something and let me know if you decide to go - you might only be and hour and a half if you come across the 33 or something..... you're more than welcome to join us ....

also check the weather report and be prepared for very cold temps (38-50 predicted) ..... our tentative plan is to Leave Flying J's Truck stop in Frazier Park at 9:00 AM and head to the trail. we're leaving a few vehicles at the bottom and taking the rest toi the top and can hopefully get two runs in by shuttling to the top each time via car/trucks.....

WHOO HOOOO What afawkin' awesome ride

only 6.8 miles down hill, but it's the best 6.8 miles I've ever ridden....we got in two rides in just over an hour and a half...there was an inch or two of SNOW on the first mile or so of the trail...our first time riding in snow.... it was great.... the views were outstanding, the air was crisp and cool (low 40's all day), damn...were going back in two weeks for an all dayer if it doesn't snow between now and then....

P.S.- SLOAN --- you're a flake

dirtdirt99 - I can't say if it's worth the 169 mile drive for a day, but for a weekend it'd be worth it for sure

let me know if you're doing it on the 10th.. I might be in for a ride.. I havent ridden in a long time and havent broken in my free rig.. (broke the other one on the continental divide in CO) that i've had for about 6 months. A nice DH run would be nice for me.. i've heard about Pinos but i've never done it.

finally got it re-built back up (DB only gave me the frame) and i figure i've got 6" rear and 5" front.. gonna ditch those XC tires (my poor missiles finally wore out.. god i miss them) for the WTB 2.4's i've got in the garage.

it looks like as of now - we are going back on the 10th...

you're more than welcome to join us....

and if we can get a couple of trucks to go this time, we won't have to bum rides to the top and may be able to get 3 rides in....
