Axle Tech? Dana 140 pig in F106
Seen it suggested that a Dana 140 3rd member can be fitted to an F106 / FDS75 to get more street friendly ratios.
I'd appreciate any insight into this. What is involved? What ratios are available? So far I have 5.83 on an F106 and 6.14 on the FDS75. Obviously they're going to have to match, but really would like much taller gears as I'm limited to 1:1 tranny and diesel rpm limits. Must be streetable. I'd rather not run 53" tires or a brownie (too many driveshafts already). Stuck this in MUD since there's more Rockwell tech here. |

The fds-75 uses the same chunk as the 106,engineering bulletin says 4.62 ratio was fastest ratio made. There are some aftermarket company's making gears for medium duty axles, check with heavy truck parts company.
