There's almost always some sort of stock class at most of the races. Rules vary greatly by location, however. 1-ton running gear however is very uncommon for competition machines. Dana 44 fronts for up to 38.5's is about as heavy-duty as you'll find. "Play" trucks do run a bit heavier.
My grandson's gutted Jeep ZJ. Nothing at all special compaired to the rigs on this forum but it's fun. 4.0 HO, open diffs, 31s. He races MSMRA Jr. and stock classes.
this is my truck for right now its a 76 blazer 6in suspention lift on 35 boggers on 1 tons with 4:11 gears has a 305 ortec engine with a edelbrock carb on it moves good havnt taken it in the mud yet ( only had it for 5 days and proly selling it in the next 2 days) only rust on the truck is the driver side rocker
can't post pics for som reason, so heres vid of the new look. Stretched the front 15", added a manual rack n pinion and some paddles on the rear. Engine wasnt running real crisp this day, pullin it out for a refresh in a week.

if i keep the truck ill be puting in my dana 60 that i have up in the back yard and a 383 stoker that im building right now but hopeing to sell it cuz i wanna build a truck
