Sloppy Joe's mud bogg

Anyone ever been there? I went once last year. Thinking of going back more this year. I may get the old Flatfender out for some fun

Yeah, it was okay but I didn't really have much fun since I didn't take anything to drive. We were just spectating, but everyone out there looked like they were having fun. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was thinking it was going to be a little more organized than what it was. It was just folks out there playing in the mud. I guess when I saw "mud drag lanes" I thought there was going to be some actual type of competition, but there wasn't. Like I said, I didn't take a ride there, so I'd probably have more fun if I take the old heep out there and have some fun with it

So, kind of like a free-for-all?

Everyone doing their own thing?

Yup. I'd love to see some side by side action in the drag lanes, but the one day I was there it was just a few people here and there going through them. I did get to watch an old M715 go through it a few times. It was pretty cool to see some old iron out there still getting it done.

Yeah, we have a few of those free-for-all things around here & for whatever reason there's usually about 5X as many people there as there are at the real races. I can't figure it out 'cause for me if you're not out there IN the slop, those events are about like watching paint dry (although still a step above watching a rock crawl comp ). But, you wouldn't believe how many people actually go to just watch a bunch of so-so trucks putt-putt around all day. That's what I love about going to a real comp. At least when my racing's done for the day I still have a great time watching the other classes.

since its warming up now there will be alot going on there.... there was some side by side action going on between a sami on 33's and a geo tracker on 29" ltb's. nothing special but it sure was funny to watch. the geo just floated over everything. did anyone go threw the pond when you was up there?

I guess not because I don't remember there being a pond. All I saw was the two drag lanes and the bi-level mud pits.

i think the pond is the lower pit in the bi-level pits. reason i called it a pond was that when i was there a guy on 39.5's sank past the bottom of his doors in there and this other guy sank up past his 37's not even a foot into it. idk if its gotten any deeper or if they have filled it in any.

when are you planning on going back up there?

I dunno. I'll update the post when I decide to get off my ass and go.

The day we went that part of the pit wasn't really all that bad. At least it didn't look bad from the sidelines.....

Sure looks like alot fun. I like the idea of a free-for-all in the mud, those are always fun.
