Ebay Uprights

I have purchase a set of up-rights for my 78 chevy short bed mud truck off ebay, from "randy's headers". Just seeing if anyone else has purchased any of these? Heres a link.

I bought mine and before installing I painted them with VTH high temp ( 8 bucks a can). So I went to put them on. First was to passenger side. I had to completly cut out the forward most hole to get a bolt in it. and then the second bolt CAN'T be wollered enough to get the second bolt in... but the rest of the bolts went in OK. then I went to do the driver side.... before I even set the header up there, I had my doubts. once I got it up there the damn thing won't even clear the brake booster.... so I will have to figure some way out of putting a smaller booster on to even run these.... I should have spent the money on a real brand up right....

Lesson learned.

all trucks with a power brake booster require a forward mount style upright header. Even still my brake lines are way too close the headers for my liking, but some heat shield stuff should help. The lacking of quality is another story all together. I got mine from dec headers. The fit was perfect, and I mean top notch! The quality of the header overall was pretty good, the service was good, and the price was only about 20 bucks more than that guy on ebay. Check them out: http://www.decheaders.com/shop/

I was thinking that if I swapped to hydro boost it may give me enough clearance... but thats a whole different set of worms.

Thanks for the link to DEC... I'll check them out.
