just askin
When you are building your wheels, why don't you keep the drop ? Does that get in the way of the flanges?
Would sure make mounting up the tires easier. Us tractor pulling guys are sissies and get our aluminum wheels in 2 pieces so we bolt them together in the middle! ![]() Glad to see the blue oval engine in a blue oval truck !!!!! |

Yup 7 tons. the housings are the same as a 5 ton but the 7 ton has a modifacation to the housing to control the airlocker and it 2 1/4" axle shafts with ujoints the 5 ton only has a 2 1/8" axle shaft. So Rockwell consideres it a 7 ton or it is also known as an SRDD.

Gearhart Engineering is makin my swaybars. I'll be running front and rear swaybars. The coilovers are coming off shortly to make room for the 26" nitro airsprings and nitro shocks.
Here's a few new pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

these are part of the upper shock mounts for the nitro's ![]() one of the new 3" airsprings They don't have a name yet but the shocks are a new design built by the guys at BlackRock Fabrications and Heckler Motorsports The 2 worked together to come up with a top of the line shock combo. oh and that is a 2-9/16" 50 spline Gearhart Eng. chromo 5ton stub axle and ujoint sittin beside it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Inthis u can see the ghetto fab swaybar. lol I just ordered my new ones from Gearhart Eng so I'll post pics of them as soon as I get them.

Looks good. Is the front getting an air spring like the back? Also, when the air locker axles come out and the steers with the gearharts go in, what are you doing for lockers? I know he makes spools. Does he make a version of a detroit like Ouverson does for the 50 spliners? Assuming you'll be using those 66's for events and such, will you be running bigger tires for playing and tgw type stuff (30.5's or 73x44's)? Showtime, anyone?
![]() Also, what are the plans for the air locker axles and the coilovers now? Another truck? Last edited by lurchseesu; 03-21-2011 at 02:50 PM. |

yes the front will get airsprings too. I have them but the one I used for mockup didn't have the breather or the bushin in the end cap so the guys took it with them to weld on the breather bung and put the bushing in. I'll have them back and on shortly. And yes gearhart has a detroit type locker for the 50 spliners which is what I'll have in it. He's also workin on a set of spider gears since he's had a few guys ask about them. The airlockers are will be goin into the resurected old bronco but not sure about the coilovers yet. I broke one of them in fl at puddin creek.
