i would run a reverse pattern full manual valve body. Just run it with a gated style shifter (art Carr) for the trans you have and make sure it is for a reverse pattern. You will dig it!

i have ran them for years with a b&m prostick. the shifter has all the different gates so you can change if needed. Just be sure you use the safety lever when goin back to 1st, i accidentally pulled it in (or something lol) and hit neutral at WFO,,,,,not good lol I would still highly recommend the reverse pattern manual for mud.

well sometimes i have had to lol , say you shift early and the mud is deeper than you thought, it bogs a little so id just rather go back to 1st and get the RPM back up lol Of course i have ran deep mud in 1st gear all the way and hold the son of a bitch right on the floor.

What's the advantage in your opinion to a reverse pattern Vs standard manual valve body?

my truck came with a reverse valve body. you don't need it to be reverse pattern, just full manual either way, whatever your preference is. just get a good gated shifter. i have a hurst quarter stick and it works awesome.

yes, i shift from WFO 1st to 2nd and and then back to first if it needs it.

truck in sig.

because you are shifting away from neutral, but like i said you still have the chance of hittin it if you go back to first (that depends on your shifter and your reactions at the time though lol)

also i guess i am more talking of mud racing than trail riding but i would still rather have the reverse pattern.
