Stupid wiring Q.....

Okay. It's been like 6 years since the last time I did this, and I forgot how I did it.
I'm going to be running at least 8 aux. lights on the ZJ. 4 are already mounted, 55w tractor reverse/work/flood lights. I want to avoid running a bunch of wires to the battery. Could I run a big power to the cargo area/under rear seats, and set up mini-fusebox? Have the wires running to that. Seems it would be easier. Also, I plan on running 2 lights per switch, can I run them straight off the switch or would I need a relay wired up? I know it's better, just not if it's needed.

Thanks

Get an underhood fuseblock/relay block out of the autowreckers if you don't already have one. Ford has some nice units (1990+) that have a 4 or 6 pack of relays in it that piggy back onto the main underhood fusebox. Put it where you want but make sure you fuse the main feed at the battery.

Wire up using relays. Never run load on a switch.

Alex.
