I cant find a definitive answer I'm looking for... My brother just bought a 1999 3/4 ton suburban (earlier body style) and wants to disk the rear. I'm trying to figure out which caliper brackets I need to buy for him. (christmas present) Do I need C&C brackets, standard bolt on brackets, or weld ons?
Go to the "Vendor" section at the top of the bulletin board, under the "Axle" listing, and you will find multiple vendors that build these brackets. Get in contact with them directly, and they will guide you.
I have done this. I can't find a vendor that'll give me a definite answer. Same say I'm safe to use the bolt ons until 2000, some say 1996, some say the C&C will work. I just want to know what I need to look at on his axle to determine what I need.
Any bracket that's shimmed can also be welded. I did that on my C&C which was converted before anyone made a C&C bracket.
