I just skinned the roof of my buggy over the weekend. I went down to the local dirt track race shop and bought a 4'x10' piece of aluminum. They have lots of colors with white on the opposing side. Not Sure of thickness.......would have to mic it. Worked great. Not to thin not to thick. Just like i like my women. Oh yeah and it is only 79.99 a sheet. Thought the was a great deal.
Dude...I am in love with those tabs...I have never seen any with the threaded insert already there. Mine had to have nuts welded to the back in hard to reach areas. Just use a little dab of locktight...I had some rattle loose and fall out that didn't have a lock nut on the back. As for spacing...just take a look at my roof...it works perfectly.
