I'm running a q-jet on my truck now but I'm wanting to upgrade the intake heads and cam and I'm going to need a better carb is anyone havering good luck with a holley? It's going to be for trails and hill climbs.

What engine is it? Mostly stock modded?
Reason I ask, was I too ran a truck avenger and it sucked on the street, and ran either too rich or too lean. Never could get it right. Sucked on mpg's too. But offroad it never starved for fuel or flooded. I took it off and got a motorcraft 2150 and rebuilding it. Already has spring loaded needles and seats. Never had a problem with it neither. Went from 12 to 18 mpg's

Just like it sounds. Primary's towards the firewall. Use a square bore intake with a q-jet adapter turned backwards. There are several threads on here and on the web on how to do it. Mine will idle while sitting almost on it's tailgate, granted it runs rich, but still works. Only problem I have had so far is fuel spillage at really bad angles.
