My friend is looking at buying a 1986 Bronco with a 351W. Everything online concerning parts says its carbureted, but it looks fuel injected. Can someone help me figure this thing out. I'm thinking it's actually an '88, not a '86.
Not my picture, but i'm told it's the same engine

The picture is of an EFI small block Ford. The 302 had a CFI (Central Fuel Injection) option in '83. CFI is Ford's attempt at TBI (Throttle Body Injection). In '84 or '85 the 302 was avalable with fuel injection. I don't know the first year for 351W mpefi. Post a picture of the exact engine in question.

87.
An 86 with a 351w would be carb, look at the truck. If it's got square head lights with FI, it's a 302. If they're round, it could be a 351w or a 302 with FI. Last edited by Idaho4x4Bronco; 05-16-2012 at 10:20 PM. |
