help, lower gears for a auto 87 xj with 4.0 liter

im looking for some lower t case gears for a 87 xj with a 4.0 and an auto, if anyone has info please let me know some links and prices. thanks

Terra makes a 4to1 231 gear set, or go with an AtlasII, its however much you wanna spend.

You did'nt say what t/c you have. I'll assume it a NP231 & not the older 207.
I think the Terra gears are your only option unless you want to put in a Klune-V.
With over 600 posts, I would think you would know all this.

i just got this xj, i dont know what t case it has, im not to much of a jeep fan , i dont know to much about jeeps, i was also hopeing someone could tell me what t case it has

Just look at it. There should be a round tag on the back that says 231.

Waste of money.

The 4:1 gears in the np231 will make it weaker than it was and it will go BOOM! If your gonna spend $1,000 on the Tera Low, save up another $800 and get the Atlas 2 3.8:1 Ratio. Strong as hell, and they make it to fit your application.
