What is the difference between the black diamond springs and the Rancho springs? Spring rates, arch, length, durability, number of leaves, warantee, ect...

I have been looking at the all-pro's. I have heard that the 44044's are almost as good, and alot cheaper.
I will stay away from the pro comps. Are the black diamond springs any good? If they are good I will try a pair. Does anyone have any flex pics they could send me? |

what truck? what drop hanger if any? how long of shackle. should give about 5" of lift + shackle + drop hanger. do you get it? ![]() taken from the toyota faq44044 Springs 44044s are Rancho Jeep Wagoneer Lift Springs. Length: 47” Center Pin split (front/rear) 22.5"/24.5" Bushing: 3” Lift: 5.25 - 5.5” Cost: $250 44044's do not (by themselves) move your axle forward. They are the same length on the front half as stock toys (22.5"). While they do move the axle forward because of the lift they provide, when they compress to the point that they are flat, it's the same." Estimates 1/2" of actual axle relocation forward. (Length is eye to eye) (Lift is approximate and uses 1.5” longer than stock shackles giving 3/4” of lift) (Cost is for both sides incl. shipping/give or take) Wagoneer Springs “Waggy Springs” These are stock Jeep Wagoneer Springs Length: 47” Bushing: 3” Lift: 3.5 - 3.75” Cost: $160 Cost is new from JcWhitney: $78 each Part No: 07RJ2047B 5 leaf Part No: 07RJ2047P 7 leaf Used should be cheap and come out of mid seventies to mid eighties waggies. 7 leaf is supposed to be the ones you look for. (Length is eye to eye) also. Yes, you can run the 44044's with a drop hanger (i would not recommend this due to too much lift) or you can run them in the stock front hanger with some minor trimming of the spring bushing. I recommend a 2 1/2" rear shackle in the stock postion (Performance Products make a really nice bent style for about $40.00, I highly recommend them.) If you use 44044's with the drop you will get 5" of lift plus the amount of the dropped hanger. 44044's in the stock postion with a 2 1/2" rear shackle nets you about 5 1/2" of lift on a 85 w/ 22r this is PLENTY for 35's with no trimming at all. You can do 37's with some minor trimming. You also have to weld a spacer on the drivers side spring perch (85 yota axle) in order to level out the ride. I used a 3/8' plate that did the trick perfect. You should also run bumpstops no matter what springs you have to make them last. Last edited by pitter; 02-18-2003 at 11:13 PM. |

I realize the thread is a month old but I just wanted to let everyone know that summit's price is $123 per spring and $5 each spring to ship. And 4WPW according to ext 5100 he said they are $127 per spring and he could reduce them to $106 each but shipping would be higher. Total was $258.98 shipped to my door if I buy from them. my .02
