92 silverado with newer dash??

Does any one know if you could put a 96-99 Silverado dash in a older 92 silverado? I might be able to get a wrecked 97 as a doner. Also can I put the motor in it too? Thanks.

You can put in, just have to figure out the wiring/mounting. I saw a truck in Four Wheeler or similar mag where a guy took a 73-87 style, made it ext cab, and put the 95-up interior in it. Said all the wires were the same color, and hooked up easy. Now I don't know just how easy it will be, but it proves that it can be done. If you have time/patience, you can do anything I guess. As for the motor, since is is OBDI or II, you will have to get the computer and all that goes with it. AGain, cna be done but depends on how much patience you have. If you want the motor itself, you will have to change the heads and intake for it to work in your truck. That truck has the Vortec heads on it, and the intake bolt pattern is different from the older ones. I think there is an intake out now that will allow to use the TBI intake from 88-94 to the Vortec heads. Edelbrock makes it I believe.
