'83 through '85 were the years w/ vacuum disconnect.

I have more links that I'd give you, but they're on my home computer (at work now). Do a search for "Waggy 44" and you should find plenty.

Awesome, I'm so happy. Looks like I finally found a good one. Do you know if the '87 has flat top knuckles?

It's actually 86-90 and no 87 did not have flattop knuckles. Mid to late 70's had em.

Don't know about the 44s but the Dana 30s weren't vaccum disconnect until 87. It's the one good thing about my '86 XJ (2.8V6, ? auto, NP228).

You're '87 frontend is a good Dana 44. They don't have flat-top knuckles but they arn't vac disconnect, no Grand Wagoneer axles were. You can pop the drive flanges out and run hubs no problem.

What is actually 86-90??? If you're talking vac disconnect you are mistaken. It was 83- mid 85 and was used with the NP229 transfer case.

86-90 DID NOT have vac disconnect is what I meant. Noone wants the vac dis.
