NOOB battery question/wiring

hey, my battery doesn't recharge when its in the scout II. i just rewired it so its not really an IH specific question. the battery was kinda old but it has just started not keepin charge. do you think it is just the battery or my wiring. it just doesn't have enough power to turn it over but can run fine after its been started with the jump.

Probably just the battery is sacked, check voltage with engine running for about 14 volts and then shut it off and recheck. Voltage should drop, leave meter attached and try cranking it to see what it drops down to. If it drops to 6 or 8 volts your battery is shot. Check terminal connections too though, do this first actually.

Rewired in what fashion?

Are your terminal clamps on securely and are they nice and clean?

you might have a short somewhere. Disconect your battery when you go to sleep tonight and reconnect in the morning and see what happens.

Did the battery charge before you rewired it?
If everything was working before you re-wired then I would assume that it should work after you wired it.
Which leads me to think that something may not be wired correctly. When troubleshooting always start by looking at the very last modification made.
