I don't recall having to unbolt anything from the engine compartment. All I remember was that it was a real beyotch to get out of there and required some pretty weird arm positionings. Basically had to wedge some hoses around to keep them out of the way. I believe I took the cap all the way back to the firewall and rotated it and brought it out the pass. side going back near the heater core and then out. Its a real PITA, but can be done w/o unbolting alot of junk from under there. Have you checked in a Haynes?....I am out of town so I don't have access to my FSM or Haynes, otherwise I'd check it for you. There was a link posted on POR a week or so ago offering free "semi-FSMs". Might be a hint or 2 there? I rate this project a 4.25 wrench thrower out of 5.

removed a mojor wire plug and a the throttle linkage, man I love my ford now
