but the 4lb hammer is soooooooooo heavy I need a new one anyways.

lose the starter and alt huh? that would open us some space.

forgot about my recovery gear. I usually carry 2 15' tow straps and a 30' yank strap I could probalby ditch one of them.

I wanna get the CO2 tank

I am also trying to use this so I can condence my stuff into less boxes, so if I roll, I don't have much chance of things hitting me or getting dumped on to the trail.

what does everyone else carry?

knock on wood, same here. just the simple things of haveing a strap easy to get to, or a hammer within easy reach.

what do you guys carry the spare shafts in?

the spare shafts???
lets see i have seen them in tube bumpers..
under the frame
inside the engine compartment
straped to the spare..
just about anyplace they can fit without causing a problem.. lol
just bring alot of u-joints.. everyone wants them.. I have heard of people buying a 10.00 u-joint for 100.00 from someone .. wow..
any way I carry alot of junk I dont need.. and now with the trailer I have to tow behind the rig.. I will put alot of parts in there.. and leave it at camp..
if I need something I can get to it and use what I need..
but I will still carry the basics.. on the trail..

yeah like you never blue topped with a 10lb'er
shit, in the "old" days we used a 12lb'er. now try and hold that sucker straight armed out in front of ya and bring it down and touch your nose

harbor freight is good for something like those fiberglass 4 lb hammers.

try to keep your weight DOWN as much as possible if you are hitting extreme shit. but hey....if you are just out cruisin and site seeing/camping then what the heck. i am talking from an extreme type of wheelin and not near the tow rig. i sometimes leave my spare shafts and draglink in the truck.

Wink

Maybe loose the power steering fluid and the air filter. You can drive with it low if your rig is light and the air filter will be wrecked before you get a chance to use it. When we prerun a long race--like 500 miles we always need to change the filter but all our spares are smashed by other junk we carry so they are useless. Probably should carry some spare front axle stuff.

I currently stack mine on the floor boards behid the seat and strap tool bags over them to hold em down. But I with my next cage I am gonna incorporate some kind of hangers for them.

The list looks good. I also carry a extra fuel pump, duct tape, Bars radiator stop leak, and distributor cap w/ a few wires.

Looks like you are prepared for breakage but I wonder if all that extra weight you have is contributing to the breakage...

Not sure why you'd need an airfilter
or an oil filter
1/2" sockets kinda make sense, but you might save some weight by just carrying the 1/2" drive sockets you need and using 3/8" sockets for the rest.

Starter? only if you have an automatic, and if you have an automatic then your tranny fluid and power steering fluid are one and the same, and I'd leave that at the towrig along with the alternator, d-shafts, axleshafts, oil and brake fluid.
