dana 44 axles
tried the search and probably didnt use the right words but I am putting 1980 scout axles in my cj7 and will start looking for spares soon.
Are the inner lenghts of the dana 44 axles the same and the outers the different lenghts to match them to the tube lenghts or am I stuck with having to find pure scout axles If I have to use the scout axles only does the years matter in the interchangability of the shafts have fun Last edited by 84cj7305; 11-04-2003 at 03:36 PM. |

Scout 44's have different inner and outer axles lengths.
The inner axle lenght is derived from the tube length and basically put the u-joint right at the center of the knuckle pivot point. The out shaft lenth is from there and then out as far as needed because of the spindle lengths. Some are relatively close but not right on... the WARN website will give you an idea. They list all the possible axles lengths for inners and outers.... To answer your question... yeah... all scout 44 axles lengths are specific... you need scout axles shafts dude.
