Is this worth the work?
I have Cherokee front and rear axles with 3:55's, and the stock Dana 30 and 35 with 3:07's in the YJ. I plan on doing a SOA with what I currently have (don't say save your money and time for a 8.8 or 44's
). Since XJ axles are already SOA and have 3:55's would these be easier to install? Is the extra ratio worth it? Fawk I'm confused. I'm assuming I'll have to move the XJ perches anyhow.

several issues with this....i'll just state a few.
1. you wont notice much differance between 3.07 and 3.54 2. XJs front axles have coils and YJs have springs, so there will be some fabrication work to make this work. 3. the rear axles have different leaf sizes. there are much better choices out there if your going to do an axle swap. save your time and energy. hope this helps

Dont waste you fawking time! The front is going to be a pain in the kiester. The rear, you'll have to cut or torch off the old perches and set new ones for the right pinion angle and width. Too much damn trouble for axles that are not any stronger.... Don't polist that turd guy!!! You would be better off tossing in waggy d44's, easier too!

I have a 35 with a 3.07 Lockrite'd for sale...
Nonetheless, not worth the effort converting the XJ stuff to SOA considering you've already got the YJ stuff. Less cutting/ fab work to do on the leaf sprung axles, and you keep a matched (albeit 87%/ 116% more/ less gear ratio - long run, shouldn't matter) gear pattern. Math hurts my head this late. Good luck with it. -Nate
