D30 Ring/Pinion question= '91 YJ

I'm in the process of building a D44 with 4:56 gearing for the rear. Obviously, I'll need to change out my r&p in the front dana 30 to match.
My question is;
Do I need to replace my D30 carrier to fit the new ring & pinion change? Will the stock carrier work with the new ring/pinion?

I know it's a stupid question but I don't want to get in there and end up screwed because I didn't ask.
Thanks!

what's the gear ratio in the dana 30 now?If it's a I think stock gears from 3.73 & up will fit with any gear ratio if I remember right with your carrier

Send a message via Yahoo to Little Red Zuk
You will need another carrier from 3.54 to 4.56 on a D30. If you're still open, they are cheap (under 50.00 new).
