putting chevy tbi fuel pump in 84 cj7 tank
Talk to me about it. I have the pump. I have the tank. So how does this go together exactly? Anyone have any pictures?
Sorry, but the search is out and I need to work on this tonight. Although, I still don't remember seeing what I'm looking for in previous searches.

I put one of those fuel pumps in my 77 CJ tank. The problem is the sender hole is so small, not designed for an in tank pump. If my fuel pump goes out, it will need a new gas tank, as it was way to much work to get it in there, with the sender, pump, and sock and all. What you need is a later model tank that used in tank fuel pump to make it easier.
What I did to install mine though, which is what you are asking, is I got a donor sending unit from a GM truck, and transfered over the mounts and return line with silver solder. You also need the plug and electrical bulkhead mounted on the sender too. See, it's a lot to mount on a little 2" disk. I have been running mine for 6 years with no problems (knock on wood), but you need to make changing the pump on the trail an option (just in case), and mine is not. A new plastic tank would be nice!!! LOL
