Scottsdale
I have a buddy that is selling an 84 Scottsdale. I believe it has D44s front and rear, but not too sure. It has been sitting for about 2 years with the tranny out of it due to leaky tranny fluid. He fixed the tranny and the truck runs, but i sure as hell don't thing it is worth $2k, i mean it is just an old run of the mill Cheby with a 350 in it. What do you think the right price should be? I was thinking around $800

If the motor runs, and the body is in good shape it is worth about 2g.
hell the beds go for $500-$800 if they are in good shape.

I will have to take a better look, but the front had a little fender bender that destroyed the pass. headlights and bumper. The color is shit brown, and very faded. Are the corporate 10 bolts decent axles? I usually on deal with Rovers so i need some help with the strength issues of the Chebys.

Do you have a shop on HWY 72 there in So. Pitts? I travel that way from time to time to see my parents near Chatt. and I always see this shop with a bunch of kick-ass Rovers out front.
As for the 10-bolts......they do not hold up well to the additional weight larger tires provide. Especially under a full-size rig. 33's are about the max for heavy-footed 4-wheeling with occassional breaking. 35's can be managed but it will require a lighter foot and it comes a matter of "when" you break, not "if" you break. Although some people around here are running them under Sammi's w/ 36 -38's and having a good deal of success with them. If you are looking for something to run around town in and hit the occassional trail with, keep the 10-bolts, limit the tire size to 33" and buy some spare parts. If you are looking to make a new trail rig, an axle swap would be close to the top of my list for mandatory modifications. |
