Arrow Stiff ride on new Superlift Springs

undefinedI installed a 2.5 inch Superlift spring kit on my 1946 Willys, the springs were also installed in the spring-over configuration. Problem is it rides way to harsh. The jeep has a fiberglass tub and the jeep is considerably lighter than stock from other mods.. I am considering modifiying the spring pack, but I'm not sure how to approach it. I am considering taking out the longest leaf under the main leaf or maybe doing some grinding to all of them. Anybody have some expierence with this mod? Just a side note, I have Pro Comp shocks(1000) but I would like to leave this out of the big picture due to the fact that prior to installing the shocks I played with the suspension and had already determined it was way to stiff.

Thanks,
Randy

First newbie tech. Second your springs need to settle in.

I have been riding on these springs for most of the summer, I don't think they are going to change much more, but in reality they never did change much from install to now(approx. 3 months).

Just be glad you didn't use 2" springs... (never again).

Now go wheel the piss out of them. They're Superlift afterall, they'll be flat in no time.

Driving on the road wont do it. Get it out on the trails and flex it up. I have All Pro 5 springs one trip they are nearly flat.

as with most springs, you gotta get the rig out there and flex it back and forth to it's max droop/stuff a few times to loosen them up. my springs are stiff every time I let the heep sit for a while. get it on the trail and flex it out, then it's nice and soft again. I ran superlift softride 3.5" springs for years and they were nice and soft when I got them broken in. not sure about standard 2.5" lift springs.

and bringing the shocks BACK in to the equation. you need soft shocks AND soft springs if you want a soft ride. softening up the springs and having stiff shocks will not get you anywhere(personally not experience with procrap 1000's though).
