spare tire holder
i have a stock spare tire holder that i have plated and reinforced so it will hold a 35" tire with no problem and the tailgate will still open. my question is does anyone have any ideas on how to raise the tire up higher because right now it hangs down to low. i dont want to drill any more holes in the tail gate and i also dont want it to stick out anymore.

i was planning on using more plate and just weld it on the back of it. i only need to lift it up about 4-5in. do you think the plate would be stronge enough with all the bounsing around. im going to use 1/4in plate.

Is there enough room behind it to put some plate vertically off of the back? Kinda like this.
