84 CJ7 has two posts (plus the output to the rotor obviously). What do they go to? The connector has a light green wire and a red w/ white wire. The red w/ white was going to ground. The green was going god knows where. What should the two connections be? Does it matter if they are reversed?

one side is positive. On 84 it'll have a resistance wire. You can use a regular 12v and use an inline ballast resistor if that wire is gone.

the other side is secondary coil. It goes to the ICM or to the points on the distributor.
