What tj lift??????????

All right guys. My girlfriends brother just got an 01 TJ. He has been druling over my rig for years. My Q is what lift kit for his tj? We are looking at the RE 5.5 long arm kit and the Full Traction 6'' long arm kit. He wants to run 35'' tires. I don't know what the hell to go with. I've never had or cared about TJ's before. Feel free to flame on for asking for such advice. Thanks.

Check out Fabtech's new long arm kit. Got one on the wall here at the shop and it's very impressive. Seems to be built stout and the brackets look well thought out. It even comes with a new rear driveline. Just my .02

get the full traction, or if you want 2 weld go with a clayton.. the full traction kit you can not adjust the upper links, only down side. clayton is the strongest but not the prettiest so if you cruise the mall full traction if your woopin it ,get clayton. the new fabtech is bad ass but its like a grand more so if you have deep pockets you might wanna try that...

other than the newest fabtech front radius arm/coilover kit which i think just came out, their long arm kits have no adjustability whatsoever, am i right? i dont see one adjustable arm on the kit. might look nice on a wall but without adjustablity, how can you change caster or pinion angle for ride height or axle swaps? speaking from my ass because i never put a long arm kit on a tj, buy claytons (which can take a serious pounding) or throw your money into some bolt on stuff which becomes useless when you want to start changing things like wheelbase or axles.

ya you are right pietro, no adjustability on the fabtech. that makes it worthless in my eyes and yea do the clayton. RE is out dated now, they were the best but there is some others that stepped it up!!

i like the RE stuff, i think they have pretty good quality and decent pricing but you just cant compare anything to what clayton has to offer

the clayton stuff doesn't use a pan to attach the arms, it just has weld on mounts for the frame which means you can use a flat skid plate for the transfercase. all of the other more expensive kits have a pan which hangs down a few inches

i think either way, between full traction, RE, or clayton, you cant go wrong but my vote is for clayton

I have no problem with welding. I'll check out the clayton kit. Thanks.

I have the RE 5.5 LA, and run 37's. It would be too much lift for 35's. I can easily fit 38.5's

Get the 4.5 " RE LA, or the Clayton.

if you are ONLY going to run 35's and nothing larger, why not get a quality short arm kit with a one inch body lift, flat skid the center and be done with it, no custom shit, done in a weekend and room for 35's. yeah it wont be a ramp queen and might ride a little rougher than a long arm but it is cheaper

if only running up to a 25, i personally would rather get a nice flat center skid and do a short arm kit rather than do a full long arm and keep the stock plow for the t-case

I had the 5.5 RE kit before I 4 linked and streched my TJ. Really liked it but if I was going to by a out of the box kit I would go with the new LCG kit from Tera. it removes the trac bar and if you really want to get crazy I think they have a coilover kit you can get with it.

doesnt removing the front trac bar create weird steering feedback because the axle will move perfectly up and down with triangulated 4link?
