cant get the damn low pressure hose off this pump

I am helping my friend change the power steering pump in his '99 XJ and we cant get the low pressure hose off. I think its the low pressure anyway, the one with the clamp, we slid the clamp way off and are pulling that shit as hard as we can. Maybe we are too girly, anyone know a good trick to disconnecting one of these.

after years of heat baking it will melt it self to the hard line. i like grabing the end with a pair of pliers and twisting or slice the end just enough to get it off but you will only lose a 1" or so.

well we are just changing the pump, so it doesnt need to come off the hardline. Im thinkin some vice grips but I have to go get them from my house and we are drunk so it wil have to wait until morning. But now im worried getting it back onto the new pump will be an even bigger pain in the ass.

Cut if off as close as you can to the pump, then slice whats left on there and it will come off, you should have enough slack to do this, if not that line is cheap.
