how hard core? they have dana 44 front and rear big motor. however they are heavy as sin. its not going to be gracefull or good looking but you need to cut most of the body off to lose some weight i bet each door you cut off you probly lose around 110 lbs. lose the rear hatch and maby another 115 pounds says good bye. their is a lot of after market support for them but if you want to get really crazy i wouldnt start with this platform. its easier to start with something that is a good platform. Just what i think. anything can be made into a good offroader some more easily than others.

Gw
Wow, you don't post or reply to anything in a month and your cut back down to newbie status?
Anyway, I have a line on a sweet 89 GW in really good to great condition. I'd like to make it worthy trail rig not a buggie or anything close, but changing out the frt/rr bumpers, winch, 6" lift, 35" tires etc. I don't want to distort the original body because unlike most... I like the look. It just flat out say's, KISS MY BIG METAL ASS!!! I have not seen one lifted or even remotely fixed up in this direction. I've only seen them going the other way to a rotting state. Lastly, it's family thing so I don't intend on grinding it on rocks or trees. I have an 800b for that. |
