crate motor
do you guys think the transmission in a 1995 tahoe can support a new 350 crate motor? now this is assuming the transmission on the 95 tahoe is in decent condition and has suffered only the normal wear and tare.
or are there things i can do to the tahoe to up the horse power and ft lbs of torque? Last edited by darkmatter; 12-07-2005 at 08:38 AM. |

I'd definately put a new torque converter in at the time if trying it. But dont expect it to live long behind a crate motor (300hp+). I'd pull the tranny and have it gone through just to avoid dealing with problems later.

Depends on the specs on the new motor.. Crate motors can range from 150 HP and up.. 95 Tahoes had 200 HP and 300 ft lbs of torque.. In 96 they had 255 HP and 330 ftlbs of torque with the same transmission.. That is in stock form so you need to figure out how many HP motor you want to run and then come back..
