Little black box?
On a 92 V6 3.0. Its next to the airbox with two hoses to the top part and one to the lower part, and the lower part goes to the intake tube after the Mass air flow sensor. Do i need these or can i just plug the openings and run it?

I dont have a camera, but it seems like a air chamber, with one hose going to the airbox after the filter, another one that disappears under the intake manifold, and the lower box goes into the intake tube after the mass air flow sensor and has a tube that also disappears to under the intake manifold.

You do not need the boxes but you need the hoses connected to the intake. It is part of the SMOG system. The boxes are to quite the intake system, with out them when you let off the throttle it will have a gurgling sound. The hoses are the reason that the 3.0 V-6 will Hydro-lock if left on its side to long. I took mine off but did retain the hoses for SMOGing purposes. I do plan on plugging them and running the hoses into a "catch Can" in between SMOG checks. Here are some pictures of what I did.

You can take it off as long as you plug the lines. I had to take mine off when I put a k and n cone filter on. i kinda ghetto fabbed the big intake hose till I get some more time to build a new intake tub. I took a rattle can top stuck it in the hole and used the factory hose clamp. I can notice any negative effects.

okay i bypassed them too, but the smaller one from the intake went to lower box then to the big hole that you plugged with the abs cap. I ran the smaller one to that and then looped the other one, if you plug the larger hose the gurgling sounds go away.
