front calipers.

I have an 86 GMC 1/2 ton.Swapped the engine from V6 to V8,and the tranny from 700R4 to Sm465 with a 205.
I'am now putting in a 44 front and 14 bolt rear and i'am just wondering if i can use my 1/2 ton calipers on the 44 backing plates,or if i have to switch those as well.

Not sure if you can use 1/2 ton calipers on 3/4 ton backing plates. I am leaning towards no, but check and see.

Also, I think that in order to run 1/2 ton backing plates and calipers on an 8 lug 44, you will have to have the 3/4 ton rotor machined down to 1/2 ton diameter.

But I am not positive about any of this...
