:shaking: Ok, I got left the cj7 alone and went to 4runners. Its my DD and I have put alot of work in it. When I drive in the rain or throw mud hole the motor bogges down and starts to loss power. It takes about a hour driving it to get it to run right. I sprayed wd-40 every where under the hood and every time I go riding. any idea's....thanks for any help. 88 4runner, 22re
first thing you need to do is replace to old o-ring on your distributer cap. If that fails get out the silicon and go to work on the cap. You also have another option go through the puddles slower.
Distributor cap as mentioned above but don't forget about the plug wires as well. I had a Dodge 600 that always ran like crap when the weather was wet. When I did a tuneup on it I put silicone on the cap and both ends of the wires. It ran like a top in the wet after that.
If that doesn't do the trick, start putting silicone on every electrical connection under the hood you can find. Sooner or later you will find the one causing the problem.
