For the people running H2 wheels, what are you doing for lugnuts? The nuts on my D60 and D70 seem way to small for the H2 wheels. If I were to run them I bet they would pull through the wheel. I asked the local parts store about larger nuts, or other ideas, and they were less than helpful.
Heh, your from college station. I spent a lot of time further south in Brenham.
I posted up about this subject somewhere else a while back. The tapered nuts found on newer vehicles seem to be larger than the factory (for example) early Ford D60 nuts which almost seemed to sit too far into the tapered stud hole of the rim, and the factory studs did seem short as well. This combination made me search for something better.
I ended up running what I believe are late model mustang studs and tapered nuts. They worked great on the front D44 but were just a cunt hair loose in the rear D60 hub (I didn't mic them and get specifics but planned on tacking them in just in case.)
Take your hub and stock studs to a Napa, have them pull a good match for the stud (ie: length and appropriate knurl) and matching nut that has a newer taper to it. What I found worked pretty well, you get a slightly longer stud and fatter nut that centers/sits in hole better IMO.
Here are a few numbers, maybe they can help
Advance Auto
Pik-a-nut 98256 stud
Pik-a-nut 98908 nut
Napa
RTR Bolt BK 641-3157 (stud) ... I think this is also the 98256 cross
Studs were maybe $2 each, nuts under $1 three years ago

yeah, I took the stuff to napa, and the kid behind the counter still had a hell of a time with it. It was kinda funny watching him try to use the calipers though.
Thanks Krawlin, I may end up just getting those on my current setup.
The nuts I went with last time also had the outside thread for the plastic covers they had over the nuts in newer applications.
