If your compressor fails on the trail then your are hosed without lockers. One Rubicon run one of our club members rolled. During the roll the hood was smashed and broke the compressor under the hood. The Jeep was driveable but he was open/open due to the broken compressor.
The advantage of a working compressor is having unlimited air. Having a refillable, portable tank is an easier setup. IMHO The disadvantage is having to refill the bottle every so often. Pick your poison.
