So I am putting my new 44 in the front of my s10 and getting ready to set up caster. But to get6* i have to end up with a narly pinion angle. I was informed that hydrulic assist negates the affect of good caster (with HA it wont return to center but it will fight death wobble). Is this true. Or will HA not help my possibly bad caster (i am thinking of going 1 or 2* so I still have a decent pinion) This will be driven to and from the trails as well as some highway.
I would shoot for 4-6 degrees even with the hyro assist. Just cut and turn your knuckles then you can have both. The hydo assist will help stabalize, but not stop steering issues. It assists, meaning it makes it easier to steer. Properly set up It will return to center, mine does.
Like Basher said, you need to get your knuckles turned to 4-6 degrees. Hydro assist doesn`t help eliminate wobble, having your caster right will.
