i have found a good running 79 3/4 ton chevy truck witha 454/465 combo. the only problem is the body is shot. i have also found a 1/2 ton with a good body and frame. just wonder the differences of the frames in the two or if its even a good idea to make a half ton truck a 3/4 ton...
one ton axles huh? being that the rear is exactly the same and i cant really see the benifits of a 60 in the front. brakes yes but is that really worth a $1000 axle??????
It all depends on who you ask really not a option but if you had the 70's,or 80's I think, then it would be really sweet kinda like operation army truck.
buy the 3/4 ton 454 truck if the price is right you can easily find a new bed or fenders, its a pain to fix the cabs though, I beleive the 3/4 frames are a little more heavy duty, but you could stick some 3/4 ton axles under a 1/2 ton and it will be fine. if you are concerned about brakes, find a hydroboost set up off of a 1-ton or a diesel truck, that swap would be cheap.
