Question '74 CJ-5 Leaf Springs Need Advice??

Hello Everyone, Newbie in almost every sense of the word. My father had a Jeep 1974 CJ-5 he purchased new.

It has sat in a Garage a couple years, and I'm trying to restore it to operating standards. It needs new springs. I was wondering if 2.5" Leaf Springs were the standard and if anyone had suggestions on Springs I should get, or Perhaps Avoid at all costs.

I'm going to purchase a whole set along with new bushing sets. Any help would be appreciated.
1974 CJ-5 with 350 V8. (Original Engine was 6cyl, but was replaced it in mid/late 70's to haul a trailer in the Rockies).

It also has drum brakes and it looks like the Brake Cylinders for the front wheels have gone bad. Any suggestions on Bolt on Disc Brakes for this model?

Thanks in Advance.

Brian Rogers.
Chattanooga, TN.

`72-`75 CJ5`s used 1 3/4" wide leaf springs. You can still get stock spring pac`s from JC Whitney.
