I am just looking and getting ready for a 4x4 vehicle, but heard that as of a certain year (Pre 1977 i think) I do not have pass smog.

what year is the first year that I will not have to worry about smogging, and secondly is the year that the DMV set a line in the sand, or is it a moving year. So each year the mark moves up a year as well so the rule is actually any vehicle older than x years does not need to pass a smog . . . ?

No moving year. 1975 and older no longer needs a smog.

Dang. thanks for the info. . . will keep this in mind as I look for a new off road vechicle. . .
