longs or 60
I have an 86 4runner that I'm gathering parts to build... the plan is TBI 350, TH700R4, SYE'd 241, from my 89 burb(RIP).... my question is axles... would a toy axle with 30 spline longs and his hub gears surrive 37 inch MTR's on the street, with IROKs in the dirt.. I am a fairly cautious driver, but am unsure if a 60 is needed.. the truck would see extensive street time as well... thanks...

Spend money AFTER you break a part or two. A 60 swap isn't going to be cheap. Run whatcha got until you can't run it no more...that's how I've gone about things.

x2. I'd say at this point, buy the longs. If you later find out that you need to go to a 60, sell off the longs. Used they get about as much money as they do new. Also, if they break, Bobby will warranty them for free.

My friends son has a 90' extra cab with a 350 and 36" TSL SX's. He runs Longfield 30 splines, Longfield hub gears, ARB hub studs, ARB knuckle studs and a few other goodies. He is fairly cautious and hasn't had any axle issues. I think you will be fine with the Toy axle beefed up.
