87 3/4 ton Mod ?'s

My Dad has a 87 3/4ton Chevy (Custom Dulex) with a 350. I was wondering what would be a good suspension lift for it to clear 33's. I know I'm only 14 and dreaming out loud but he said he would give it to me when I'm 16. I figured a 4in suspension lift would clear 33's. Would this be a decent daily driver if I invested some work into it. It runs good as of now but I just wondered if it would still run O.K with a lift.

So basicly what I'm asking is:
What size lift to clear 33's?
Who is a good company to buy from and what would it cost (Link Please)?
Would it work as a daily driver?
What would I need to do to make it work? (Trim Fender's general work)
My dad and I are Mechanical could we do it ourselves?
And one more where can I get body panels, or how do I fix Body Rust.

This is something like I would hope it to end up looking like

14 huh.. there's alot to learn here if you take the time. it's well worth it.
a 4" lift will be plenty for 33's and 35's with a little trimming. for the back i'd get a shackle flip from www.diy4x.com or www.sky-manufacturing.com. that will give you 4" lift and keep your stock springs for a good ride and great flex. you will also need longer shocks and a longer brake line. for the front i'd get off the shelf 4" tuff country springs from 4 wheel parts or a store like that. again, you're going to need longer shocks and brake lines. new ubolts are a good idea. 4.10 gears would be nice too. good luck and have fun

Thanks for the info. I know I have to get new rear leaf spring's to since he put in new ones to handel some heavy ladder and tool box racks. So should I get some stock leaf spring's and then add the shackle flip? I figure brake lines will be easy to get.

try to keep this kind of stuff to the newbie section from now on. did your pops swap out the whole leaf pack or just add a helper? if he just added a helper, you can take that out. the shackle flip will go on either way. 4 wheel parts wanted waaaaaaaay too much for brake lines. i got mine from off road design. chevy's are great at home projects for a first timer because there's a ton of bolt on's out there since everything is riveted together from the factory.

Thanks, I pretty shure the whole leaf pack was swapped, but I'm not positive. I didn't know how to get it moved to the Newbies section, so I made a new thread there and then this one got moved afterward's so that didn't really work out but Oh Well. If you were interested I did go a little bit farther as far as suspension etc.
