Help with gearing

If you were running 35's, what gearing would you go with? Just wondering how 3.73's would do so I wont have to fork up more moola.

it depends, are you running a manual or a auto? do you run mud or rocks or both? you can get away with a taller gear if your running a manual. i had a J-truck with 38's and 3.73's with a 727 auto and it was perfect for mud bogging but problably would not have very good in 2 hi on the highway or trying to rockcrawl. i used a 208 case which has around a 2.7 low range, but if i had a 205 i would have needed more horse power.( 205 has around a 1.95 low range)

Theres this thing called low range. USE IT! lol Unless your planning on doing MAJOR (emphasis on the major) rockcrawling it's really uneccesery (sp) to change. If you need more gearing throw it in low range. It's put there for a reason.

What engine and auto or manual? With my puny 2.9 and a 5 speed I'd want 5.13s, maybe 4.88s if I had my 4.0 in. 3.73s and 35s would bring major suck in almost any rig.
